Instrumentation in the Department of Chemistry at Missouri S&T is made available to serve the academic community as well as commercial entities. Access to instrumentation requires proper training and instrument training modules have been developed to enable faculty and their students and representatives of third parties. Priority will be given to support academic enterprises. Demonstration of completion of the S&T EHS General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST) is required prior to the start of instrument training.
The instrumentation includes apparatus for separation (GC), spectroscopy (IR, UV/Vis, fluorescence, benchtop NMR), thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), and elemental analysis (CHN). An overview of Instrument Training Modules is provided in PDF format for downloading and printing (last updated Sept. 2, 2020) and module description are available online by clicking on the appropriate tab below.
