Inorganic and Solid State Chemistry.
The synthesis and study of the electronic and structural properties of transition metal complexes and solid state materials by using infrared electronic and Mössbauer spectroscopy, x-ray and neutron diffraction methods and low temperature magnetic susceptibility techniques, the study of the electron density distributions in transition metal complexes and organometallic clusters; the study of hard permanent magnetic materials.
According to the "Mössbauer Effect Reference and Data Journal" the Missouri S&T Mössbauer group holds the record for publications from all Universities in North America; counting non-university labs, it ranks second only to Argonne National Laboratory.
